It’s been a rough-and-tumble month over here, thanks to the flu and school obligations. Also, I can no longer claim being a teenager, which makes me beyond sad. (YA books forever though.) January has already wiped me out.
Now that I’m catching up on life and reads, I’m back and better and ever with some a round-up of my favorite books of 2017.
Each year, I try out something new with these lists. By next year, maybe I’ll have shifted to doing mood boards or something else entirely. If you’d like to take a look at some of my previous best reads, check them out above.
I always have a tough time coming up with my list because there’s a difference between “best” books versus “books I loved.” Some books were well-written. Others have some flaws, but I adore their general aura. It depends from book to book. (Honorable mentions include more of the latter — something I wholeheartedly loved but I still found fault with a few aspects.)
Even so, I had a tough time coming up with a list of my favorite titles in general. Some of my favorite reads this year were manuscripts that haven’t been released — and that I can’t name yet. Additionally, I reread and polished off a few series I’d been putting off for a while. Finally, 2017 was a year for expanding my reading taste and comfort zone. I delved into genres and risks that I hadn’t tried yet, and it did a lot for my repertoire — but my favorites are still YA or philosophical reads, so those didn’t quite make the cut!
Links will come by the end of this week, but feel free to poke through the blog for any of these. Most have been reviewed or discussed on Words Like Silver — and shout my way if you want a review that you can’t find!
