Best of 2015: Not the Books!

Hey y'all! So Jamie at The Perpetual Page Turner does this really cute end-of-the-year wrap-up with all her favorite non-bookish things: music, TV, moments, movies, etc,. I participated last year and had a blast so I wanted to do it again! I love stories, and that can take a lot of different mediums.Recently, I started Tune In on the blog, which covers a lot of my latest media obsessions. I've covered audiobooks, podcasts, and of course, music! So you can always hit that up if you'd like my day-to-day choices in these categories. Without further ado, here's my year:best music 2013

BIG ONES FOR ME: James Bay, George Ezra, Vance Joy, Hozier, The Head and the Heart, Sufjan Stevens, Lord Huron!

tvBest shows I started watching this year: Okay, this is a little embarrassing. I haven't watched anything this year. The one show is:Scandal: Over winter break, while bedridden with bronchitis, I kind of rediscovered Netflix. I'm not big on Netflix; yeah, I'll watch a movie occasionally, but it's not a priority for me. Scandal is addictive, y'all. It took me way too long to get on this bandwagon.moviesI must be really lame because I haven't seen many movies this year. What's more, I can't remember the last time I went to a movie. I'm sorry? I should get on that. For those of you who will inevitably ask, no, I have not seen Star Wars yet. I'm planning to savor it. I also really want to see The Good Dinosaur.Trainwreck: Honestly, Trainwreck was hilarious. It also had me choked up a few times, so I really enjoyed it.fave-blogs-2013

Brain PickingsLevo LeagueThe Science of UsBarefoot Blonde

ee1. Leather pants - I wear them practically every weekend to work because we have an all-black dress code. I even wear them to school - not so special occasion for me anymore.2. Lemon bars - In the spring, I perfected my recipe and I love having something that's all mine. Very few people in my family can make them as well as I can, and there's something inexplicably soothing about grating lemons and listening to an audiobook for a few hours.3. Sparkling cider - weird, recent obsession? I have an addiction to very berry hibiscus refreshers as well.4. Letter writing - I love writing letters, but this year I've been really dependent on it. My pen pal is just one of the best people I know, and I love both getting his perspective and cathartically getting out my own thoughts.5. Crazy amounts of vitamins - Okay, technically this isn't an addiction. But because my immune system's gotten even worse this year (I didn't know that was possible), I've had to resort to taking about a thousand vitamins over the course of the day as well as daily inhalers. #asthmaBut item-wise and obsession-wise, I think this about covers it.

moments20132015 not the booksI had some good moments this year. If you want a more poetic recap, head on over to the writing blog. For now though, enjoy the pictures. As a reminder, you can check out my personal goings-on during my Day in the Life posts. In any case, I’ll have a few pictures on my Vsco page.

That’s about it! What non-bookish things did y’all discover this year?
