Cover Reveal: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

Hey y'all! When this posts, I will have JUST gotten in the car on the way to Canada. Twenty-four hours with three kids, two parents, and two dogs should be interesting. I am a heavy sleeper, so props to my parents to getting me up at four in the morning. I hope that y'all enjoy my scheduled posts! I wrote them all on one day, so hopefully they're good and you can't tell that I'm sleep deprived!Anyways, yesterday the cover for Scarlet by Marissa Meyer was revealed. Cinder - the first book in the series - was absolutely astounding! I was not expecting to love it as much as I did but I desperately need the sequel now! I'm so jealous of all the ALA-ers who got to get advanced copies of it! For those of you who may not know, the American Library Association (ALA) hosted a conference that several bloggers attended. Marissa Meyer signed copies of Cinder and Scarlet while there. Without further ado, here's the cover for the sequel to Cinder!

I'll admit - I'm not a huge fan of this cover. What with the STUNNING cover of Cinder, I was expecting something a little more creative and visually striking. The cover of Cinder was part of what made so many people buzz about it. This feels like just another cover. However, I will DEFINITELY be buying this book. The cover may be a little disappointing to me, but the writing and plot is utterly superb! The description below and isn't the official blurb.

"Book two, Scarlet, is based on Little Red Riding Hood. It continues Cinder’s story as she attempts to escape Queen Levana’s vengeance and learn more about her past. The story also introduces readers to Scarlet, a girl living in southern France whose grandmother has mysteriously disappeared. In order to find her, Scarlet seeks the help of Wolf, a street fighter with more than a few mysteries of his own."

Scarlet will be released on February 5, 2013 by Feiwel and Friends
