Trailers: August

Hey y'all! As the school year draws closer (I know - it's upsetting me too!), I am salivating over some really amazing books that are drawing nearer to release. Of course, there are some amazing ones that unfortunately do not have trailers. I am here to highlight the ones that do. Enjoy!HADES by ALEXANDRA ADORNETTORelease date: August 30, 2011[youtube=]I don't know if y'all have heard my effusive praises of Alexandra Adornetto, but she is my IDOL. She has been for a long time. I hereby proclaim August 30th, Alexandra Adornetto Day on the blog. Maybe I'll get some other bloggers to contribute, maybe write some articles, reviews, a few guest posts, host a giveaway, etc,. Seriously, she is my freaking hero. I cannot emphasize that enough, but if I ever am lucky enough to speak with her or meet her, I will just about die. I will freak, fangirl out, and then faint from the sheer amazingness. She's been my hero since I was 11. ELEVEN. So I religiously buy and talk about all of her books. She is my IDOL and probably always will be.

Bethany and Xavier are even closer since battling Jake Thorn and his evil influence (in Halo) and Beth and her angel siblings must still protect Venus Cove from the Dark Forces. When a party game – a séance – inadvertently releases Jake from the Underworld, he disguises himself and tricks Beth into taking a ride on his motorcycle. When the highway opens up and swallows them, Beth learns too late that she’s now a prisoner in hell. What happens to angels there? As her archangel brother, Gabriel, her sister Ivy, Xavier, and her best friend, Molly search for her, Beth must weigh Jake’s bargaining for her freedom: one night with him, and she will be released back to Earth. Can Jake be trusted in this wager? And is he also using Beth to engineer the fall of the archangel Gabriel? Xavier has already lost one love – when Jake tricks him into thinking that Bethany is dead, his grief and anger result in a betrayal that will leave Bethany – and readers – wondering if he is so good after all. It will be up to Beth to use everything she’s learned about her powers as an angel – and about love – to free herself and those she loves from the clutches of Hades.Intense, right? I was a little skeptical when I saw the description, but then I grew to love it because Alexandra wrote it. Plus, it sounds really good. I loved Halo and one of my best friends borrowed it from me and still freaks out whenever I mention it. I've been told that I'm getting an ARC of it, so I'm really excited for that.

BLOODLINES by RICHELLE MEADRelease date: August 23, 2011[youtube=][youtube=]Unfortunately, there wasn't a trailer for BLOODLINES, but there were some videos of Richelle Mead talking about BLOODLINES. There was even a video of her reading it! I absolutely adored the VAMPIRE ACADEMY series (reviews to come coinciding with publication of BLOODLINES) because it was fresh, intense, and alltogether amazing. I don't know how Richelle Mead did it, but action and romance make this a must read. BLOODLINES is the first in the spin-off series. The narrator is apparently Sydney.

The first book in Richelle Mead's brand-new teen fiction series - set in the same world as Vampire Academy. When alchemist Sydney is ordered into hiding to protect the life of Moroi princess Jill Dragomir, the last place she expects to be sent is a human private school in Palm Springs, California. But at their new school, the drama is only just beginning.Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, Bloodlines explores all the friendship, romance, battles and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive - this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone's out for blood.

Again, I am SO excited for this. I know that apparently the line at BEA was HUGE and that this was one of the most coveted ARCs of this year. The Vampire Academy series is really popular, and everybody who thinks that it's just a "sappy vampire love story" is kidding themselves. Rose is a "kick-ass" girl who isn't afraid to fight back. I love Rose; she rocks. All the characters in VA rock and I can't wait to see the action, romance, and characters in BLOODLINES. I'm so jealous of anybody who got to read this. If I had gone to BEA this year, BLOODLINES would have been the first book I read.CIRCLE OF FIRE by MICHELLE ZINKRelease date: August 1, 2011[youtube=]May I just say at first that Michelle Zink is one of the sweetest authors that I've talked to. She's great; she might even stop by for an interview! My friends and I are OBSESSED with this series. It's dark, romantic, and intense. It's even kind of creepy. Anyways, it's just AMAZING and I can't wait for CIRCLE OF FIRE. Isn't the teaser trailer great?

With time dwindling but her will to end the Prophecy stronger than ever, Lia sets out on a journey to find the remaining keys, locate the missing pages of the Prophecy, and convince her sister Alice to help--or risk her life trying. Lia has her beloved Dimitri by her side, but Alice has James, the man who once loved her sister--and maybe still does. James doesn't know the truth about either sister, or the prophecy that divides them. And Alice intends to keep it that way. There are some secrets sisters aren't meant to share. Because when they do, it destroys them. This stunning conclusion to Michelle Zink's Prophecy of the Sisters trilogy will make saying good-bye bittersweet for readers.

It's also interesting because it plays with the bonds between twins. It's almost like a love-hate relationship and casts an eerie twist on the good twin/evil twin scenario. I can't wait for this one! I need it so badly! The description is right though, it will be bittersweet. There are tons more, but they don't have trailers! I'm so upset! Although I love the trailers that I was able to find, it's still a pretty small post. I like having a few more. August is going to be a month of many great releases.Happy reading!Grace
